I received my call to ministry quite unexpectedly, journeying through doubt and uncertainty before that calling was confirmed, and even afterwards. I did not seem to be the right candidate, nor did I receive God's call on my terms, and I could never completely get a grasp on it. Yet amidst all the uncertainty of my response to God's call - that risk taken in love - there was one anchor to steady me. Jesus' prayer in the garden of Gethsemane: 'not my will, but yours be done', encouraged me to let go and offer back the call I received to the God whose will it was from the beginning.
