(If you've left us and are a bit confused at receiving this email, please just hit return and I'll take you off the list.)
A list of events this semester (with a few explanations for newcomers) is attached - this began as a short paragraph and just grew and grew...
The length of this list hides the fact that, because we're still out of the semester, nothing in particular is happening at M&Ms this week. So, for anyone who's free, we can meet at the Café De Werf on Wednesday at 19u for a chat and a drink: www.dewerf-leuven.be
This Sunday is Trinity 15. Our usual Communion service will be at 18u30, with Jack leading the service and preaching. If folk are keen to start the choir again, I'd be delighted: please just turn up early at 17u40.
Please note, dear and esteemed church councillors, that the PCC is postponed until Sunday 20 September after church.
This article by the famous Anglican priest Giles Fraser, repeats my sermon of last Sunday but more sharply: http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/belief/2015/sep/04/christian-politicians-wont-say-it-but-the-bible-is-clear-let-the-refugees-in-every-last-one
Advance warning: In 10 days' time the Rugby World Cup begins, hosted in England this time, and at least Matt and Jack will spend ridiculous amounts of time until it ends on 31 October talking about nothing else. To help you understand, here is the RWC site: www.rugbyworldcup.com This interactive article explains why Englishmen are so obsessed by this sport: www.theguardian.com/sport/ng-interactive/2015/sep/04/chasing-the-chariot-in-search-of-the-soul-of-english-rugby If you're already bored/confused, it gets even more complicated because there are two distinct sports, rugby union and rugby league. Jack, coming from the north of England, played rugby league at school and has a secret loyalty to this absolutely pure form of the sport, even though he loves rugby union too. Rugby union is a much larger sport worldwide and the RWC is the rugby union world cup: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_rugby_league_and_rugby_union Congratulations if you're still awake
Have a great week!
