Tuesday 3 May
19u30: Philosophy café at the STUKcafé, continuing to talk about euthanasia, using this text: http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2015/06/22/the-death-treatment
Wednesday 4 May
19u30: Homegroup is still on the move, meeting as a one-off at Scott and Jeremy's flat: Raoul-Claesstraat 1 (the bell at the bottom with Jeremy Law/Scott McColl is clearly visible). We'll talk about Mary's interview on Sunday and about the difficult issues it raises for us.
Thursday 5 May - Ascension Day
8u30: Because KU Leuven is closed for the day, we won't meet in the prayer-room as usual. Please join us in spirit by praying morning prayer at 8u30 via this app: https://www.churchofengland.org/prayer-worship/join-us-in-daily-prayer.aspx
Sunday 8 May - Sunday after Ascension Day
18u30: Holy Communion. Jack will lead the service. Our speaker is Professor Brian Doyle, a colleague of Jack's in the Faculteit Theologie KU Leuven (https://theo.kuleuven.be/apps/researchers/Doyle/). Brian is a scholar of the Hebrew Bible and leads the Jewish congregation in Leuven. He will speak on Job 19 and the Riddles of Job. It is a privilege for a Christian congregation to welcome someone as a speaker who is of Jesus' own faith and whose insights will cast helpful light on all the other sermons we have heard on Job this semester.
- We think there is some interest for a camping/glamping trip to the Ardennes after the KUL/ETF exams from 1 to 3 July. Sarah recommends this site: http://avontuurlijkardennen.be/levaldelaisne/ Please speak to Jack if you're interested. Like Canterbury, the trip will combine spiritual and fun elements and costs will be kept to a minimum. So far, a grand total of four people have said that they are interested, which doesn't sound like enough fun, so please come forward!
- A hat-tip to Bob for discovering this lovely prayer for the forthcoming UK referendum on membership of the EU, which already has Jack sweating in case the UK votes to leave - https://www.churchofengland.org/media-centre/news/2016/04/prayer-for-the-eu-referendum-campaign.aspx
